think about the incredible views from atop the
Corbett Hill Road looking down on the Columbia River
Gorge. This picture was taken from Crown
Point. Portions of many movies were filmed
near Crown Point from Twilight to Short Circuit.
Corbett also boasts a top rated school system
nationally. Many people love to ride their
bikes on the Corbett roads to take in the fresh air,
less travelled roads and popular scenery. |

TriMet is the public transportation system for the
Portland Metropolitan area. They provide busses, light
rail, commuter rail, and street car. While TriMet does
not go out as far as Corbett, you can pick it in
Gresham.

Gorge Kiwanis are committed to change the world one
child at a time.
Corbett
Booster Club, is a non-profit organization created
in response to budget cuts in 2006 with a mission to
raise money for all Junior Varsity and Middle School
sports.
Columbia Garden Club works on several yard
beautification projects. Meetings are held on the second
Wednesday of the month (between Sep and June) at 10:am
at the Corbett Fire Hall meeting room, Historic Columbia
River Highway, Corbett, Oregon.
4-H helps young
people learn and grow by preparing themselves for
economic and social success as adults while making
positive contributions to their communities.

The
Friends of Multnomah Falls dedicated to preserving
and enhancing the unique natural, scenic and historic
qualities of Multnomah Falls while providing a memorable

Crown Point Country Historical Society
Meetings are the 2nd Tuesday of every other month: Feb.
April, June and October at 7pm at Corbett Fire Hall with
the purpose of preserving the cultural resources of East
Multnomah County and educating the people in the
community of the heritage of the area.
Friends of Vista House
help maintain the historic Vista House and offer visitor
services at the information desk.
HELPING HANDS PROGRAM Collects and distributes
donated excess food and some household goods to local
residents east of the Sandy River and provides a weekly
lunch forum for senior residents to interact socially. |

City History
|
| Corbett was named
after Senator Henry Winslow Corbett a prominent pioneer
citizen who owned a farm nearby. There was also a
station named Corbett on the Union Pacific Railroad at
the base of the bluff below the community. While the
station is no longer there, there is a road that leaves
I-84 at exit 22 and climbs the hill to connect to the
historic highway. Corbett's post office was established
Dec. 20, 1895. |
